Low-Budget Perfection

Every major film has always used the best equipment and the product is always like a giant brick of gold in the middle of Times Square. Why is this you might ask? Money. Films with almost no budget have the leisure of having no issues with money regarding really any part in making a film, but what about the low-budget films? The other giant bricks of gold in the middle of nowhere. These are the films I find to be the most captivating, crisp and enjoyable. Low-budget films are the ones that truly make me think and research more on and this is usually what my free-time ends up being and is also the reason why I have so many NHI's.

Recently (like 20 minutes ago..) I found another gold brick. A short film on the website, nofilmschool.com that was a surprisingly easy find which makes me very unsettled. But anyway, this film is like no other that I've personally seen before. The title is, "He Took His Skin Off For Me". Already and odd and interesting title.. The film is an obvious Fairytale with an almost dark twist. The main character's boyfriend/husband has the ability to remove his skin for her and so he does with the reasoning being unknown, and throughout the film is what it's like living with him and all the new things she has to do to keep an hygienic household.

Anyway, to the point...

This film is similar to my position in the short film because they raised money, just like we are, to fund this whole film (not to mention a huge stroke of luck). By using the internet site Kickstarter, they raised enough money to produce this oddly beautiful film. I chose to write about this one for inspiration for my class. They didn't have an infinite budget or a professional team for the incredible make-up or even a larger-than-life director, and they still pulled off an in my opinion, grade A film.

My point is, we might or might not meet our fundraising goal but pulling off a captivating story isn't impossible.

Bad Santa

Christmas is a wonderful time full of joy and laughter, but what happens when Santa is fed up with being Santa? This video shows my hypothesis.

Nogfic

Nogfiction is a band of friends that are all about hangin' out and drinking nog and learning about life through story and experience. More to come, enjoy.

Diminishing Fear

Fear is a mental blockade. It has the power to define and control but it's something that can be overcome. This video shows three examples of everyday people overcoming fear. Enjoy.

10 Shot

Camera techniques make a film more interesting. They add depth and they have the power to enhance any film. These are my attempts at 10 techniques like, whip pan whip cut, whip zoom look, search up, back to front, focus out pass out, focus transition, over and underexpose fade, ceiling twist, shifting angle and sleepover. Enjoy.
